For any first timers: say good bye to life as you once knew it. Any Airsoft experience you've had is just that. Airsoft. This is Mil-Sim.
+1
Also, pace your self. The first hour seems to fly by really fast, but you will need to hold out for the entire operation if you can. Playing video games for 10+hrs on xbox or ps3 is nothing compared to the real thing. And try to get a good night rest the night before. OPP-I Pathfinder
Dont be so concerned with how cool your gear looks. Little things can totally affect your endurance. Im almost always a drop leg holster guy. Drop legs can chaff, chaffing can cause fatigue and alot of other messy things. take off all your kewl patches and move your pistol up to your vest.
Dont encoumber your legs. You walking is more important. Also, as a vet of not just PP but many a MOUT site, forgo your jungle boots or jumps. Get an Oakley boot or a pair or Merrill's. The added weight on your feet will have you dragging after 10+ hours.
If your going to stick with boots, dont tuck in your pants.
Bring some Gold Bond powder! Use it where you think it should go! Moisture is your enemy out there overnight
Start getting in shape now, seriously. You do not need a gym membership to do this. Basic calisthenics and a running routine will suffice. I would recommend running hills, there are a lot of stairs you will be going up and down at the MOUT.
Also, if you have never pulled an all nighter, don't let this op be the first time you do. Try staying up all night NOT playing video games. Instead, sit outside of your house and guard your front door (or some task similarly tedious) from 1 am to 6 am without falling asleep.
...and remember...there are no breaks during this op.

knee pads...should be mandatory, Alta and Bijan are my favs.
Carry high energy snacks on you. I carried a few power bars in a pouch and carry a couple 5hr energy shots with me at OPP1. Whatever you need to stay alert and effective.
Batteries batteries batteries, Put a fresh load in your lights, comms, goggle fans and then bring twice as many spares as you think you'll need. OPP I - Pathfinder, Bravo Co. KAFIR MilSim Groundzeroairsoftusa.com
Severed, you may wanna try a uniform that has knee pad inserts. Tru Spec makes BDUs and DCUs in ACU cut.
The reason I say that is 1st of all Altas and Bijans slide. Ive used both. 2nd those straps on your legs have to be tight to hold, its best to not have any sraps on your legs for than long of a period.
Good info for people that hate knee pads Animal but I have BDU, DCU, ACU, Marpat and Despat all with knee pad pockets but I like my Alta pads, I've used them for 2yrs and not really had any issues.
